Terms of Service

The plain rules for our free referral line: what we handle, and where the independent providers' responsibility begins.

Effective date: August 14, 2026

These Terms of Service cover your use of jltowingnearme.com and the JL Towing referral line. By calling the line or using this website, you're agreeing to them. We've written them in plain English because terms nobody can read protect nobody.

What JL Towing Is

JL Towing is a free referral service. One call connects you with independent towing and roadside operators working in your area. We don't perform towing, we don't own tow trucks, and the drivers who show up don't work for us. Our compensation comes from the partners we refer calls to, which is why the call costs you nothing. You pay the provider directly, and only for work you approve.

Independent Providers, Not Our Employees

Every provider in our network is a separate business. Nothing in these Terms or in any referral creates an agency or employment relationship between JL Towing and a provider, and no provider has authority to make promises on our behalf. Providers set their own prices and their own schedules. They carry their own licensing and insurance, and keeping both current is their responsibility. We make reasonable efforts to refer calls to licensed, insured operators, but we don't supervise their work and can't vouch for any particular provider's status on any given day.

Quotes, Pricing, and Your Part

Any figure you hear on our line is an estimate based on what you told the dispatcher. The final price is set by the provider and agreed between you and them. Before the driver hooks up your vehicle, confirm the total: the hook-up fee, the per-mile rate, any after-hours or winch-out charges, and accepted payment methods. If the on-site number doesn't match what you were quoted, you can decline before work begins. A two-minute conversation at the truck prevents most billing arguments.

No Warranty

The referral service and this website are provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant any provider's workmanship, response time, pricing, or availability. We don't promise that an operator will be free in your area at any particular hour, and we don't guarantee phone estimates. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some states limit these disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JL Towing isn't liable for damages arising out of services performed by an independent provider. That includes damage to your vehicle during loading or transport, delays, missed appointments, pricing disagreements, and personal injury connected to a provider's work. Your remedy for provider issues is with the provider, backed by their insurance. If we're found liable for something despite this section, our total liability is capped at one hundred dollars ($100), reflecting that the service is free to you. We're never liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Indemnification

You agree to defend JL Towing and cover the resulting costs, including reasonable attorney fees, if a claim against us arises from your misuse of the site or your violation of these Terms. The same goes for claims arising out of your dealings with a provider. This section doesn't apply where a claim results from our own misconduct.

Calls, Texts, and Recording

By calling our numbers or submitting your phone number through the site, you consent to receive calls and texts about your request from JL Towing and from the partners who receive it, including autodialed and prerecorded messages. Consent isn't a condition of any purchase. Calls may be recorded for quality and compliance. Full details, including how to opt out, live in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

Use the site and the line for real service requests. Don't submit fake or prank requests. Don't scrape the site or republish its content. Don't interfere with the site's operation or probe it for vulnerabilities. Don't impersonate someone else when requesting service. And if you're facing a medical emergency or a crash with injuries, call 911 first; a referral line is not emergency services.

Intellectual Property

The content on this site, including the text, graphics, page layouts, and the JL Towing name, belongs to us or our licensors. You're welcome to browse the site and to link to it. You may not copy our content for republication, and you may not use our brand in a way that suggests we endorse you.

Disputes and Arbitration

Delaware law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Most problems get solved with an email to support, so start there. If we can't sort it out informally within 30 days, you and JL Towing agree to resolve the dispute through binding individual arbitration under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, instead of in court. Small claims court stays available for qualifying cases.

Class action waiver. Disputes must be brought individually. Neither of us may participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration against the other. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court while the rest of this section stands.

You can opt out of arbitration entirely. Email [email protected] within 30 days of first using the service, include your name and phone number, and state that you decline arbitration. Opting out doesn't change any other part of these Terms.

Severability

If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, that part gets trimmed back to the minimum the law requires, and the rest keeps working exactly as written.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the service or the law changes. The effective date at the top tells you when the current version took effect, and meaningful changes get posted here before they apply. Using the site or the line after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
